Pride-Part 3- Use Caution

Proverbs 16:17-19 (KJV)
17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

This needs to be repeated. Christians are taking credit for what God has done and for what He is doing in their life. We all have to stay grounded and don’t let flattery and compliments go to our heads. Don’t believe the hype. God’s is using you, and He is using a lot of others also.
Remember on your best Christian day pride can cause you to take a tumble. You can fall hard!
Hope this is taken seriously, because Western Christianity is very close to man worship and some leaders just about demand it. Wow! This should have been a good day for King Herod.
It’s a shame how it turned out. There is nothing wrong with manly props but it is wonderful to hear a big strong football running back simply say, all the glory belongs to God.

Acts 12:21-23 (KJV)
21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.
22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.
23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Leaders we need to give all the glory to God, because he is the one who deserves the Glory and Honor.
Herod was smote because he gave not the God the glory. Pride can cause us to tumble!
