“Pride”

Definition of Pride-a feeling or deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired.

Proverbs 16:18
"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."

In ministry we have to understand it is The Lord working through us, with us and for us, and all the glory belongs to him.

We will relate this actual story to this article.

One day a minister was lying upon his bed and he asked the Lord had he dealt with his pride? The Lord didn't answer right away, so the minister fell off to sleep.

Two days later he received a telephone call from a prophet who stated that he had a dream about the minister.

The prophet said he saw the minister, in a classroom environment sitting behind an old wooden school desk. An usual being appeared (probably an Angel) and stood directly behind the desk.

He slowly moved to the front and stood in front of the minister and made the following statement; "You have not dealt with your pride and you don't know how to pray!"

In the dream, the prophet yelled in defense of the minster and said, "He prays in Jesus Name!

End of the dream.

Even though the minister asked the Lord the question about his pride, he was of the opinion that he had dealt with his pride. He went about doing some things that he thought was handling it. The dream was a prophetic deliverance dream. He was immediately convicted and asks the Lord to forgive him. He told the dream to a friend of his friend had the same thing happened to him.

He believed because he had his own opinion about dealing with his pride, the Lord sent the answer to his question through someone else.

The minister asked the Lord, but the Lord sent the answer through His prophet.
Now, it just could have been, that was the way the Lord wanted to bring the answer.
The minister was having success in ministry and had a deep pleasure and satisfaction about his achievements, and this was and is wrong.
